A journey down the corridors of the Federal Parliament building of Switzerland. The film follows a parliamentary committee established to create a bill on genetic engineering and shows politicians grappling with both sides of a contentious issue – as the promise of ever greater economic prosperity clashes with the moral implications of unchecked technological progress.
In einer sowohl klassischen als auch theatralischen Inszenierung, die etwas Westernartiges hat, wird ein politischer Prozess dargestellt, den Bron eindeutig links der Verhandlungen ansiedelt, was ihn aber nicht davon abhält, mit besonderem und berührendem Wohlwollen auf alle GesprächspartnerInnen gleichermassen einzugehen.
